[Wactclc-alma] Primo CDI Access Issue

Heather,

One issue (and maybe *the* issue) is that your Gale loc id isn’t being included in the link from Primo, as highlighted below:

You need to go to:

Alma Admin / Discovery / Custom Linking for Central Index databases, and make sure that the table entry for “gale_linking” includes ‘primo’ for the service, and your institution locid for the loc id:


This parameter contains the URL template that Primo VE will use to access Gale resources that have been activated in CDI.

I don’t know if that’s the only issue, but it’s definitely one issue.

What Gale collection do you have activated in CDI?

I think I found the citation at Pierce<https://sbctc-piercecollege.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01STATEWA_PIERCE/12mqddp/cdi_gale_infotracacademiconefile_A19732214> and it’s connecting through Gale In Context: Biography.

I also ran the new CDI Analysis on yours and it’s definitely different than Pierce. It looks like your record is coming through ProQuest?

Hello, dear colleagues.

I had a student share a link to a Primo citation that isn't correctly connecting to our Gale subscriptions. I was able to direct-search Gale Powersearch and get the article.  Unfortunately, the access link in the Primo record appears to derive from CDI, not from our Alma activations.

Do we have the ability to configure CDI activations?  Perhaps in the Primo VE interface?  If not there, then perhaps in Alma in another way than what I'm currently doing?  I've searched our Alma activations and I can't find the specific collection listed in the example record.
