[Wactclc-alma] May Release Barcode Issue

As per one of our Salesforce tickets on this topic, ExLibis is reporting a fix for the issue in the upcoming June release.

I was aware of your case and Whatcom's, but not of a potentially more general issue with barcodes.

If anyone encounters anything similar, please do post to this thread with the affected barcode(s), as I'd like to take a look.

Whatcom too. Certainly seeing it with our weirdo barcodes that have a blank space as the last character, and some of ours with non-alphameric characters at the end. I created a case yesterday and we've been added to a Tier 2 case already open.

It did just start out of the blue so I thought it was related to the May release. Happy Spring!

Morning everyone!

I just wanted to give you a heads-up about an issue we've discovered at Pierce College. Earlier this week we had trouble scanning in an item to return and received the message "Return Blocked -- Item Not Found" even though the item existed, and was definitely on loan. Screenshot of the error attached. Inversely, we tried to check out a different laptop to a student, but Alma wouldn't accept that barcode either. Fortunately, we had another laptop that would scan correctly.

When I opened a ticket with Ex Libris, Yaala shared that there seems to be some kind of barcode problem with the May release. "We started seeing cases where, apparently starting with the May Release - such errors show up for certain item barcodes. I believe that a fix is being analyzed - I will update you."

So thought I should give the group a heads-up! Wade found a workaround to be editing the item and then clicking Save. Wade- anything else to add?
