[Wactclc-alma] FW: search external resources in MDE?

Forwarding this thread to our Alma list.

Some institutions on Alma-L, and Grays Harbor, reported errors searching WorldCat from mdeditor yesterday.

Error message refers to Z39.50 configuration.

I could not reproduce the issue yesterday, and have not been able to this morning. External search works for me.

A number of customers have opened tickets already, so additional tickets aren't necessary.

But if you run into issues with WorldCat search from mdeditor today, please post back to this thread.

I saw this on the Alma-L list yesterday. Someone reporting similar error to yours.

So it may have just been a service issue at OCLC, rather than your home connection.

Would be worth trying again, I think.

The external search is working for me here this morning.

Has anyone else had any problems today searching external resources from the MDE, OCLC specifically? Here at UConn, we get the error message "An error has occurred, please try again later and contact the system administrator. (Z39.50 gate error: Z39.50 target not defined)"

It was OK last week... I've opened a support case.
