Traci,

Are you talking about grace periods in TOUs? The grace period in a TOU only controls when Alma charges overdue fines. The TOU doesn't control when an item gets marked Lost.

When something gets marked Lost is controlled by your Overdue and Lost Loan Profiles (Alma config > Fulfillment > Physical Fulfillment > Overdue and Lost Loan Profile)

You'll have some profiles in here that control when overdue notices get sent out, and others that control when an overdue item gets changed to Lost status and the Lost notice gets sent out.

The Lost profile(s) will have the Profile Type = Change to Lost

You want to look at the Days After Due Date field to see when items will get marked lost and the Lost notices will go out.

It's possible to force Lost notices to go out by selecting a Lost profile, clicking the button with the 3 dots and selecting Run Now, but the notice will only go out for things that already match the rule you have in place. For example, if your Lost Profile says to mark things Lost on Day 7 after the due date, items with an End of Term loan won't be marked lost until 7 (8?) days after the end of the term, even if you manually run the job earlier. Does that make sense?

It will be ok!

Subject: [Wactclc-alma] End of Term and Grace Period

Hello,

I had a grace period on our end of term items for when we were putting them in quarantine. Our end of term was 6/23/21, and the grace period was set or 3 days. I removed the grace period, so all overdue items go immediately to lost status. When will the overdue/lost notices run? Can I create a job?

Thanks,
Traci
