[Wactclc-alma] Issues with MD Editor not refreshing

Colleen,

We don’t use MD Editor a lot, but we’ve definitely had experiences over the course of several months with Alma “freezing” and getting a spinning blue circle that sometimes spins for several minutes.  This happens in different areas of Alma with all different kinds of records.

There was a discussion on the Alma-L list in May 2021 where several people reported problems with records not opening in the MD Editor when they were using Chrome.  Several people said they were able to switch to Firefox or Edge and the problem went away.

One person reported:
A colleague had the same problem in Chrome this morning but it stopped when she cleared the browser cache.

Ex Libris Support chimed in to say that people can use CTRL F5 to clear the browser cache in Chrome.

I’ve found that I have fewer problem with Alma if I set Firefox and Chrome to clear cached data whenever I close the browser..

Here are instructions for setting your browser to delete cached data when it closes:

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else has been having issues with Alma MD Editor not refreshing?

I make changes to a record, save and use 'View Related Data' to view inventory. Sometimes it loads, but most of the times I just get a spinning blue circle. Sometimes the holdings load, and sometimes I just get the spinning blue circle. I use alt+u to update the holdings. When I go back to view inventory so I can click on the option to view items, it does the same thing. I have tried refreshing the page, logging out of Alma, using a different account, and I still experience the same issues.

Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this issue?
