[Wactclc-alma] Editing 245 for set of electronic portfolios

Following up on this! I wrote a normalization rule to add "(Audiobook)" to the 245b on Monday, and then ran the rule on the set created. It worked beautifully and was a great reminder on norm rules because I hadn't created one in years. Thanks!
I also ran the "Change Electronic portfolio information" job to change the material type to "Book." This was also on Monday afternoon and I'm still not seeing the change in Primo. I know CDI changes take a while, but this isn't CDI. The electronic material type is showing now as "Book" in Alma. Should I just keep waiting?

Sorry, I misspoke. I wrote 'indication rule'. That should be 'normalization rule'.

If you look in the mdeditor where you create normalization rules, you can search the community zone for existing normalization rules.

For example, there is already one called:

               EXL - make resource type book electronic

That would change the resource type in the marc leader to ebook, which is maybe what you want to do.

As long as those are local records, and not CZ records.

And you could modify that rule to append the desired text to the 245.

The CZ norm rule called "Suffix 245.a." provides an example of how to add a suffix to a field/subfield. In that rule, they are doing it conditionally, but you could just use the 'suffix' line from that rule.

We already changed the resource type label. I think it was Audio CD originally? Our team actually would like to change the resource type to "Book" so that audiobooks will be discoverable along with other books using the Resource Type facet in Primo.

Which is why I want to add audiobook to the 245. :) I'll look into figuring out the normalization rule route!

Those "... (audio book)" titles do appear to be coming from the O'Reilly CZ collection, and so aren't anything Seattle did intentionally, other than activate titles from the CZ.

And SJ is correct that it would take an indication rule to append "(audio book)" to the ends of 245$a fields.

A simple option might be to change the resource type label of "Audio" to "Audio Books and Music Recordings." Or jto ust "Audio Books", if your library doesn't carry audio music in the collection.

I think you would have to create a titles set and do this with a normalization rule.
If these are CZ records, though, obviously you can't modify the 245, so you would need to do something squirrelly like create a local extension with just the word Audiobook in it and use a Primo normalization rule to insert it where you want it. There are probably other ways to do this, though, and I could be missing a really obvious solution here. It's been a very long three day week.

In hopes of making our audiobooks more discoverable in Primo, we'd like to add (Audiobook) to the 245 of our OverDrive portfolios. I created a set of the OverDrive portfolio records. Is there a job I can run to change the 245? The "Change Electronic Portfolio Information" job doesn't seem to have that option. If not a job, maybe this can be done through a normalization rule?
