I believe there is already some preliminary discussion of this idea within LLC.

Also I reached out to Dana Ouellette this morning, who is the community and technical college sales rep for our region. She already replied and indicated that ProQuest was also very surprised by this turn of events and they are meeting internally today to talk about pricing for those who want to continue their subscriptions.

I second discussing this at one or more Thursday calls.  I am concerned about a potential loss of full text scholarly journal and newspaper titles, and hope to be able to do some title comparisons between the databases later today.

I am very curious about integration with Alma (lots of sub-collections in the Gale proposal) and also what everyone might be thinking regarding Proquest.  It's one of our highest used databases, though there are several pieces in the current state package that we do not really use.   Perhaps a Thursday topic, Wade?

The combined proposal from Gale for periodical databases and K-12 resources scored higher for both content and interface as well as in pricing. It is hoped that the attractive, recently redesigned user interface and relevant content will help reverse the ongoing decline in usage that has characterized the SDL project in recent years.
