[Wactclc-alma] Indexing of journal databases

Nicole,

I posted earlier this week that you should check the proxy configuration on those collections. (It may have gotten blocked by your mail server, so I'm addressing you directly here as well. Apologies if that didn't get through. I see it on the list.)

Anyway, I suggest looking the service for those collections ('edit service' from the ellipsis menu for the collection), and checking the Proxy settings, to make sure the proxy is enabled and selected. You might have overlooked that when adding new collections.

That's probably the issue.

Especially since you specifically mention journal records....

Journal title records come from Alma, rather than the CDI, and as such do not depend on CDI indexing.

And, any title record that you can search for in Alma, that isn't suppressed for discovery, should be discoverable within several minutes of being activated or added to Alma.

And for electronic titles, as long as everything is configured correctly, the links should work.

It's the full text CDI content (articles) that rely on an indexing cycle.

And, as George suggests, some vendors require a client/customer ID for access. I know some ProQuest databases require such a value.

I'm not aware that Ebsco does, but some of their collections (like ebooks) might, as he discovered.

Subject: [Wactclc-alma] Indexing of journal databases

I asked about this a week or so ago, but Bellevue recently updated a couple of EBSCO subscriptions. One of the updates (CINAHL) went smoothly and everything is working properly. When I use the journal title search it links me to the record in EBSCO.
We also updated to Business Source Ultimate, and while it is working, the search by journal title doesn't work. When I search in Primo for a journal from that database (i.e. HR Specialist) it notes that the journal is part of Business Source Ultimate, but then which I click to view the journal I am taken to an EBSCO login page.

I had make a change to the record in Alma on Monday, but it has been 72 hours and there has been no change. Is there a solution to this or should I just put in a ticket with ExLibris?

Thanks,
