Lesley,

Very rough notes...

1. Delete all the existing service(s) on the collection
2. Create a new e-activation task for the collection
3. Walk through the e-activation task, making the relevant choices

Activation Wizard: Electronic Collection and Services Setup
               Mark Bib as suppressed = check box
                              (This prevents the CZ bib record for the overall collection from displaying in Primo. Bib records for individual titles in the collection will *not* be suppressed)
               Electronic Collection Proxy Enabled = No
               Activate this electronic collection services = check box
               Make service available = check box
               Automatically activate new portfolios = check box (for aggregator databases)
                              Do NOT check box for selective ebook/ejournal packages


Activation Wizard: Linking Information
               CLIENTID = leave blank (if present)
               Proxy enabled = No

(Note: Seattle hase to set our proxy information differently than everybody else because we have multiple Primos.  You can probably add CLIENTID and proxy settings for your library in this part of the wizard)

Activation Wizard: Select Activation Method
               Activation Type = Activate all (for aggregator databases)

You can also delete the Service record from the collection and reactivate the Service.  That's a bit easier than deleting the entire collection.  I'll check my notes for Wade's instructions on how to do this.

No, they do not. Some have a date of  05/10/2020 05:39:45 PDT. I think you are right, Naoko. Deleting and reactivating the CZ collection will probably get the cleanest data!

In fact, I think Wade suggested I do that back in November instead of linking my collection to the CZ. Should have listened!

Hi Lesley,

That does sound suspicious! Do all of the portfolios have the same modification date? I looked at one of our EBSCO ebook collections (we don't have the CC collection) and the portfolio modification dates ranged from the date I activated the collection to 5/2020. I'm thinking you may want to delete the existing collection and activate the collection in CZ again. If there is a POL attached to the existing collection, you can relink it to the new collection. I'd be interested in hearing what the support team is going to suggest.

Actually, I’m looking at this further. We had the EBSCO ebook collection as a local collection for years and in November I ran the job to link my internal local collection to the CZ collection.



It seems awfully coincidental that the portfolios haven’t updated since I linked the collection to the CZ, but the collection itself has updated. So I am opening a ticket.

​Thanks, Wade. That makes sense when you explain it that way. Feels a bit misleading when you might activate a collection thinking it was up-to-date, but the portfolios could still be outdated.



I'm on my 4th reported broken EBSCO ebook from that collection :( Should I open a ticket?

I don’t think these dates need to be the same, or would even usually be the same.



The collection modification date would reflect when the collection level record or info was changed.



The portfolio level modification date would reflect a change in the portfolio record, separate from the collection info.

I’ve had two librarians bring me bad EBSCO ebook titles.



I checked the collection and it was modified in March.
