Yes, this is a good trick.

To make it easier to flip the user groups back after you update the due dates, be sure to update due dates by original user group. For example, if you need to update due dates for students and for faculty, do the students first, and then do the faculty.

Also, when setting the new due date, be sure to include a due time that is one minute or so earlier than the library closing time for that date. Otherwise, depending on the 'closed due date management' setting, the due date may roll over to the following day.

I think this might work:

  *   Create a set of the users
  *   Create a new User Group in User Configuration Menu-->User Groups and User Record Type/User Group
  *   Update/move the set to the new user group by going to Run a Job-->Update/Notify Users-->User Group
  *   Run Bulk Change Due Date for the new user group only.
I used this method to purge users of a specific set and believe it should work for Bulk Change Due Date.

I've been using the Bulk Change Due Date quite a bit during this time. However, now I have a set of 86 users for whom I would like to extend their deadlines. Is it possible to run a job that updates the due dates for a set of users?



I've done some Googling, but haven't found a solution yet.
