[Wactclc-alma] FW: SBCTC ProQuest Electronic Collections Activation in Alma and Primo

I'm writing just to pass along some info from Annette at ProQuest on a question that has come up with the ProQuest review of activations.

As Annette confirms below, the eLibrary Collection from ProQuest is an aggregator package, and not selective, as currently labeled in the CZ.

A correction to the type of package for eLibrary will be included in the Feb 2 update.

Meanwhile, aware that eLibrary can be safely activated in its entiriety, if your institution carries that subscription.

Thanks for the information, Wade! I passed this along to the product managers (PMs), I learned from them that the eLibrary collection is incorrectly categorized as "Selective Package". They confirmed that the content is identical to all customers so there is nothing to select. One of the PMs communicated this to ExLibris and said the correction in the 'type' of resource for eLibrary has been made now and will go live with the February 2nd Alma release. The same PM also said in the mean time that I can tell customers "that it's perfectly OK to enable it - they won't get dead links!"

I realize that some of the libraries may not be interested but I want to share the information with you just in case. I also appreciate your sharing the info with me so the ProQuest team can help fix and simplify processes where possible. I know that this type of thing usually needs to be handled through the ExLibris support tickets, but activation project allows us to see how the two entities work together.
