[Wactclc-alma] Electronic Collections: CDI Settings

Traci,

I would recommend not doing anything, until or unless you know that you actually need to change something.

The configuration done at the time of the PCI-to-CDI migration matches in the CDI what you were doing with the PCI.

The main thing to look for would be any collections for which you've dropped the subscription, but have not yet deactivated in Alma. (That really isn't a CDI specific activity.)

You can also decide if there are any open access collections you had active in the PCI, that you want to deactivate.

In the PCI to CDI report, those will be the collections noted as "Active for CDI only" under availability status, and that are indicated as "Was not active in Alma" under notes.

After that, it's best to adjust any collections' CDI settings based on observed behavior in Primo. Namely, if a collection does not behave as expected or desired in terms of full text linking, then it would be time to look at CDI settings.

I'm not aware of any blanket CDI setting changes to recommend at this time based on the transition to CDI. But that's not to say that we won't find some eventually.

Hi Traci,

Attached is our evaluation document. We just downloaded the PCI to CDI report, then modified it to review. It might have been overkill, but we did deactivate quite a number of collections based on this.
