[Wactclc-alma] Finding Database List Inside of Alma -?

Rhonda,

There are some places in Alma where you can get a list of everything by doing a keyword search and leaving the search box blank.  There are other places where you have to enter a question mark character in the search box.

Try putting a question mark in the search box and see if that works.

I always forget which searches need the question mark and which searches need to be left blank.  The first option I try is usually the wrong one. ;)

It will be ok!

I need to compare my  Libguide A-Z List with Databases we have access to.  I thought there was a section in ALMA where I could find them but I don’t have anything listed.  Image below. What is the pathway to that list?

Or would be best accomplished going to my EZProxy list?  Or do I need to review both?

You could potentially have duplicate barcodes in Alma.

Search by that barcode and see what comes up.

I'm actually experiencing the exact opposite in which Alma is not alerting me to the fact an item is currently checked out. I'm trying to find the setting that would trigger the “checked out to another patron” message and block the loan.

Hi everyone,

Today I discovered that when an item currently on loan is checked out to another patron, rather than triggering a message and blocking the loan, Alma instead checks the item in and then back out to the new borrower. While convenient, this is problematic because staff are given no indication that the item was improperly checked in and erroneous fines may have occurred. I can't seem to find the setting for this under Fulfillment > General > Other Settings. Anyone know where to look?
