Thank you Dan. I had thought I had edited the document and removed 6 and 7 but I guess not.

Thank you again,

john

Hey John,

Some of these are pretty quick, others might take some more time. But I did want to mention that, somehow, the circles and screenshots aren't lining up for me.

  1. Those options underneath the search box are called the pre-filters, and they are configured in the Discovery Module -> Configure Views -> Advanced Search Configuration. The checkbox "enable for basic search" is what activates them on the basic search screen.
  2. Ordering of search slots (nee scopes) appears in Discovery - Configure Views - Search Profile slots. Reorder as you see fit.
  3. These lines are called "public notes" and are configured at the Electronic Collections level. See: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/040Resource_Management/050Inventory/020Managing_Electronic_Resources and search for "public note."
  4. This I'm not so sure... Do you mean in the facets pane?
  5. (Just saw that you found this.)
  6. This is a trickier one. There's text that you can edit on the new search page, but that requires the Primo Customization Package. It's not overly difficult once you get going, but the main drawback is that this content will only appear on the new search page. There are other solutions - you can use the Resource Recommender to target specific queries and display a helpbox encouraging users to go directly to the database. Other schools have built small Angular customizations that add text on other screens, example: https://natlib-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/jsearch?vid=NLNZ&lang=en_US&sortby=rank. There's varying degrees of complexity for each of these solutions so it ultimately depends on how much time you have to devote to this problem versus what end result you'd like the user to see.
  7. This I'm also not so sure on. Maybe a video tutorial?
Dan

Libby has some ideas for the primo page. I looked at the Discovery options and don’t see where to make the changes. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

This is what I was talking about.

IDEAS FOR PRIMO

1 -Adjust setting for searches under main search box like LCC and OLYMPIC

[cid:16ae19b10fb692e333][cid:16ae19b10fbbdbb396]
[cid:16ae19b10fb855d354][cid:16ae19b10fb1f3aa077]

2 - Default to library catalog first instead of EVERYTHING then use drop down (or change to ALL RESOURCES instead?)
3 - When accessing an article from the list – where it says the database have info right there about accessing and a description of the database, like SVC
[cid:16ae19b10fba18c375][cid:16ae19b10fb201d7d08]

4- Do we need to have LIBRARY in the filters list? Take out
5 – Put filters on the left? Everyone else does?
6 – Note for somewhere on webpage - when to use PRIMO when to search individual databases
7 – General note for all of us: Help students learn how to use their library account and access their accounts to renew and see a borrowed items list via PRIMO.
