I don't know if students are "completely opposed" to getting receipts via email. I think it may be a matter of them checking their email at all. Perhaps their preferred communication is via text?

There is also the matter of whether Alma is sending to a personal or a college email address. I checked with Valerie, our Circ Desk manager, and she found that Alma isn't consistent.

When a student asks for a return receipt, Valerie said she shows the student their account on the monitor to verify that the item is no longer on their record. I don't think she's ever had to actually print that screen, as Stephanie Levesen suggested in her email.

We also stamp due dates when we loan materials, so the bookmarklet wouldn't be a useful tool for us.

As I asked in the meeting, we would love to have a way to print loan return receipts. Students often ask for them when they return laptops.

Did I hear in the meeting that ExL is working on a print option for loan receipts? If so, will it include an option for loan return receipts?

I agree!  We don't get requests for loan receipts here because we still manually stamp due dates on all our materials, but I did install the bookmarklet just to try it out and it's very cool!

Thanks to everyone who shared such great info at today's meeting! Just wanted to voice my appreciation.
LCC has the bookmark installed on our Circ desks, so the option exists for us to print a receipt now if we so desire- thanks for the demo, Wade!
I was able to get the PPMS extract job script line added, and hopefully tomorrow we will have student worker email addresses for Alma to send to.
