[Wactclc-alma] Missing items suppression

OMG. Thanks for the heads up, Nina! Hilarious. I would have been sitting here forever, just waiting on those changes to appear. Is it something I can run a publish sets job on if I create a set of items that have holdings suppressed? And, I'm guessing that would have to be a physical title set, maybe. Hmm...

Elena, I haven't checked lately, so hopefully I'm wrong. But just as a heads up, I don't think those changes are retroactive. So if you're waiting for a global change of bibs where the holdings were already suppressed, that big 'ol world's just going to keep on spinning. :)

I agree, I also wish we could effect various configurations and have them immediately apply.

The other question I have is how long does it take those changes in config to show up in Primo, because things that should have been suppressed after I made the changes are still showing up, and it's quite a while later...

Thanks, Elena!

I checked our settings, and both are set to "false". I only changed to "true" suppressBibWithDeletedHol

If I set the suppressBibWithSuppressedHold parameter to "true" will it suppress bibs with multiple holdings for active and withdrawn items?

Thanks,

Cara Beth

Thanks, Cara Beth. Yes, I know how to do that in the individual bib record in MD Editor. However, what I wanted to do was to make sure that bib records attached to items that are Lost (and the holdings therefore suppressed) would also be suppressed automatically, instead of going into each one individually. I finally figured it out.

It wasn't in Fulfillment configuration, which is where I thought it would be. It was in Resources Configuration.

Go to Configuration|Resources|General|Other Settings, and in that mapping table set the suppressBibWithDeletedHol and also the suppressBibWithSuppressedHold parameter values to true. Ours were set to False.

Elena,

Click Edit to open the item in MD Editor. Click Tools tab, click Set Management Tags, Suppress from Discovery.

Took me forever to figure that one out, so I'm happy to help!

Hi there:

I just realized that our items that have had the status of "missing" have the item suppressed, but not the bib record. I have been searching around configuration to see if I can figure out how to change that, and I've searched the help pages, but I can't figure out how to change that. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Elena
