So, Stephanie's question sent me into researching LCC's "loan to lost" configs and Wade helped me set the correct job to run. I think I finally figured out a little more today, however I now have it saying "lostnull" for loan status instead of just "lost"....ideas before I just start throwing things? ;)

Yes, that example item did get marked as lost, along with 14 others. (I just checked.)

So, the backlog of items that hadn't gotten marked as lost wasn't too bad, actually. I looked expecting to see a larger number.

So, good work. And your TOUs appear to be keeping your patrons under control, even without marking their items as lost :)

Okay, we removed that from the billed for both MV and WIC.  Neither Elena or I know why it was there since we haven't changed or adjusted the overdue and lost loan profiles and have no idea where the loan status got that on there.

So we'll see what happens.  Otherwise, we'll be back...with more questions.

The reason item 30025000341983 is not being marked lost is because the associated overdue and lost loan profile contains a condition that is not being met by the item.

You have 'Lost Status' set to 'overdue loan with overdue charge'.

Overdue charges only get applied when something is turned in, or the 'charge overdue fines' is applying fines to the patron record as they accrue.

If you remove this status requirement from the lost profile, the item will be marked lost the next time the profile is run (daily, as scheduled, in the afternoon)

Well I'm wondering what changed and why it's no longer working since it used to work and now it doesn't.  Here's our lost profile for billed notices:

This has been configured like this since we got Alma and no one's gone in and changed it.

This is the overdue and lost loan profile of one of the books that is overdue but not billed to the patron:

3 notices (all the ones for reserves and laptops) should not be attached to this location, so not sure why they're there.  The first, second and third overdue notice should be there.  However, the billed notice is not there.  It should be there.  I don't know why it's not there.  I don't know how to make it get there.  We haven't adjusted the settings but now overdue items aren't getting billed to patron accounts and I'm confused as to why that stopped happening suddenly this quarter.

Don't make the question more complicated than it needs to be.

Whether an item is marked lost and billed is determined by the overdue and lost loan profiles.

Make sure the items in question match the parameters of one of the 'change to lost' profiles completely, including library, patron group, location, etc (depending on what is set in the profile).

'Create overdue loan fine' does not apply to the lost profiles, because you are marking the item lost and billing out for it.

'create overdue loan fine' is used to apply accruing overdue fines when the item is still out.

Since Monday, when we started blocking patrons with overdue materials, we noticed that books that are WAY overdue (like due on 4/30/2019, so over a month) have not gone into lost status and billed the patron for a replacement cost.

Elena and I have looked at the overdue and lost loan notifications, and noticed that on the billed profiles (bottom two on the screenshot in case my circle goes awry), under the column "Create Overdue loan fine" it's checked as inactive.  When we go to activate it, it won't click over and stay active.  Here's a screenshot:

We then ran the job using the more options button, and when I checked the history, under the change to lost by profile section, on those two jobs, it shows that nothing was changed over.  There should be things changed over.

If I go to one of the patron's records that I know has materials that should be billed but aren't, and view the policies for one of the overdue items, everything under the loan tab looks correct.  When I look at the overdue and lost loan profiles tab, the first second and third overdues are listed, then we have some reserves and laptop overdues that are listed (which shouldn't be since it's for a book) but under that there's no billed notification going out.

Has anyone come across this since the last update?  We've only just noticed this issue so not sure when overdues stopped being billed out (it's at least since May) and how to fix this so overdue materials start getting billed again.

I can send names of people with materials that should be overdue if needed.  I've looked everywhere I can to try and fix this but am coming up with dead ends.
