I changed a location last week while a book was loaned out, thinking it probably would not "stick" (I couldn't remember either) but it did appear to retain the change.

Hi all,

It used to be that way but I just tested the process on a book I have checked out. I changed permanent location from Whidbey stacks to Whidbey Fiction and the pop up said it was successful.
The confirmation box says that there are loans registered to the item as well as the usual  info that the  holdings will change.

I checked the item record and the change had been made with the book being loaned. I also changed it back.

So, it looks like ALMA has been adjusted.
Thanks for asking the question;  It helped us discover an improvement.

Can I change the permanent physical location of an item currently checked out?  Or do I have to wait for the item to be returned to change the location?



My searches in Alma-L are turning up hundreds of results.  Hopefully someone remembers off the top of their head. My memory is swiss cheese these days.
