I'm ***sooo*** excited about this!!!





Thanks to work by Chris Muzzin at Seattle Central, we've recently figured out how to create a Dashboard in Alma Analytics that allows us to drop a list of barcodes into a box, and get back a list of "associated items" (i.e. additional volumes, accompanying media, etc.) that may need to be withdrawn too.  If there are no "associated items" then the Dashboard gives you a list of Network Numbers that can be used (after some editing) to delete OCLC holdings.



(Note: Ex Libris seems to have changed the Network Number field in Alma Analytics since we migrated in July 2017.  The Network Number field in Analytics now only contains data from 035 and 019 fields in the MARC records. It doesn't contain OCLC record numbers from 7XX and 8XX fields any more. This means that it can be used more reliably to manage OCLC holdings.)



We've set up the Dashboard so it's easily accessible to our staff from the Alma toolbar under Analytics > Reports

I've copied our Dashboard and all the components to a shared Analytics folder:

/shared/Community/Reports/Consortia/WACTCLC/Seattle/Withdrawals



If you copy the Dashboard and its components to your own institution in Analytics, be aware that you'll need to edit all of the component reports.  In the Criteria Tab for each report, you'll need to update all the filters that point to another report by changing the path in the "Saved Analysis" field.

I've updated our Withdrawal procedure documentation with an Addendum that describes all the parts of the Dashboard and criteria for each Analysis in the Dashboard.
