[Wactclc-alma] [External] RE: Cochrane Library in Primo

Greg, I’m seeing Cochrane Reviews in Primo. I activated “Cochrane Library” (with 4 portfolios) as well as “Wiley Online Library” which I renamed “The Cochrane Library” in our system.  In PCI I have “Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR)” activated under John Wiley & Sons.
For all of my test searches, I am showing results with BOTH collections available (see screenshot below), so both collections seem to work equally well. To filter by Collection in my Primo results it looks like I can choose “CDSR (John Wiley & Sons)” which makes me think the filter is appearing due to the PCI activation. My test searches were:
Sweet potato for type 2 diabetes mellitus
Pressure‐relieving interventions for treating diabetic foot ulcers

Greg,
“Cochrane Library” in the CZ has four portfolios that generally match the databases listed in the email below. I’d check out that one and if it doesn’t work as expected then definitely open a case with EL. I’ll activate it too and see if it does anything here.

Hi Greg,
Olympic has Cochrane. I haven’t found a CZ collection that looks accurate as they do not contain nearly enough portfolios. I have not opened a case to request it.  I haven’t worried about it too much because it’s really just our nursing programs that use it and we teach them to search Cochrane, CINAHL, Medline, etc. directly, rather than teaching them Primo.

Please let me know if you figure out a way to activate it successfully, though!

Hi all,

My rep at Wiley doesn’t know much about Ex Libris and before I hassle them about figuring out what the best way to get Cochrane in Primo, I wanted to reach out to you.

It seems like there is the following in PCI and Community Zone. The former doesn’t look accurate and the latter, as with all Community Zone, is a bit unclear to me. Does anyone have experience getting Cochrane activated? Any advice?
