[Wactclc-alma] Zoom Video Conferencing and Accessibility Webinar

Another good and upcoming accessibility event, also sponsored by UW, on Oct 5. (This is a cross-post from CLAMS-L)

Particularly for those in the Puget Sound region, this event is a great opportunity.

I happen to know from prior experience that UW Libraries focus substantial resources on accessibility, with good results.

Accessible Library Resources Day : Registration is Open

The University of Washington Libraries, in partnership with UW Accessible Technologies, invites you to register for Accessible Library Resources Day being held on October 5th, 2018 at the UW Seattle campus. Attendees of Accessible Library Resources Day will:

*         Explore accessibility best practices for online library resources among all types of libraries

*         Hear from students and staff about how they use assistive technology to help them access digital resources

*         Workshop accessibility problems with library resources and assistive technology

*         Tour the UW Accessibility Technology Center

*         Learn about procurement and how to work with vendors

*         Formulate ways you can be a part of the solution

*         Enjoy provided refreshments and lunch

Zoom Video Conferencing and Accessibility Webinar

Hadi Rangin, IT Accessibility Specialist for University of Washington, is hosting a webinar on Sept 14th at 11 am, discussing the various accessibility features of the Zoom Video Conferencing Platform.

UW has been working with Zoom on accessibility for several years and during the webinar will discuss Zoom's various accessibility features, including closed captioning, screen reader and keyboard support, as well as its screen sharing and remote control capabilities.

Registration for the webinar is free and available thru Equal Access to Software and Information (EASI), a non-profit organization, committed to the belief that students and professionals with disabilities have the same right to access information technology as everyone else.
