Just FYI, the govcomm is working on getting a quote, both for full (all institutions) and partial (subset of institutions) implementations.

Whether anyone has use-cases that would benefit from Leganto is the question I'm interested in right now.

You've pointed out some good ones. I'm trying to remember exactly what "adding citations to Leganto while in Canvas" looks like.

Was it a matter of having Leganto functionality "skinned" inside of the Canvas frame? I think I need to review the Leganto videos about that one.

I think Leganto would be a great tool for us. However, I don't know the cost.

Here's what I like:

  *   Quality control. Allowing faculty to add materials into Canvas directly from our system means less broken links!
  *   OER/library resources. Leganto seems like it could encourage the incorporation of library materials into the curriculum.
  *   Copyright workflow. I asked a question about copyright at the lunch and I was impressed by the workflow and how we would be notified if someone uploaded a non-library material.

For the benefit of the WACTCLC govcomm, I'd like to put together a page of current thoughts about Leganto, from those who participated in our lunch meeting with ExL at ELUNA, or separately attended an ELUNA Leganto presentation.

No worries if you don't have any, but if you have any specific thoughts about Leganto, pro or con, I'd love to hear them.

You can email me directly. Or perhaps more helpfully, post them on list, so others can see them.

I'm looking for more specific thoughts than "it would be very helpful" or "I didn't like it."

For example, "The ability to quickly build reading lists from both Alma and external citations, a publish the lists to Canvas, would allow us to embed ourselves more seamlessly into the teaching and learning happening in Canvas."

Or, "The functionality in Leganto does not add any particular benefits beyond those we already enjoy through Alma reading lists and LibGuides course pages."
