[Wactclc-alma] Help with XML

Hi, Nina,

We only use the FulLostRefundFeeLoanLetter when a student hasn’t returned a student laptop in time and is charged the $700 replacement cost plus a non-refundable $5 processing fee. When the laptop is returned, Alma credits the student’s account for the $700, generates the FulLostRefundFeeLoanLetter showing the $5 balance due, creates the overdue fine accrued to that point ($25 per day business day), and generates the FulFinesFeesNotificationLetter to bill the overdue fine. We also use the FulFinesFeesNotificationLetter to bill for damage fees (we’ve had several broken screens). Since no one else receives the refund letter, we haven’t had complaints. I had previously changed the TOTAL on the refund letter to BALANCE DUE to try to make it clear that they still owed us the $5. Today I added language to clarify that overdue fines would be charged in addition to the balance due and would be billed separately. Now I’m just trying to make the whole letter easier to read.

If I learn any more about the <h> tag when editing the XML, I’ll let you know.

Hi, Tammy,

I don't have a suggestion for you about the HTML, and I'm interested, too, in what ExLibris says about the <h> tags. I do have a different suggestion, though. This is one of the letters we opted to turn off shortly after we went live, after users complained about receiving too many letters. I don't know if that option would work for you, but several of our users mentioned that they know when they have returned something, and don't need or want a confirmation.

Our faculty borrowers were especially vocal. ☺

Nina

Wade,

I looked at some of the other letters I use and they have <h> </h> tags around lots of the @@ sections, so I don’t think I should treat the one in this letter as a header tag. Unless anyone else has suggestions, I think I will submit a SalesForce ticket.

Tammy,

Yes, <h2></h2> would work.

I’m not sure that <h> is even a valid HTML tag. It should have a number indicate size, <h1>, <h2>, <h3> etc.

One line of text in our FulLostRefundFeeLoanLetter is very small so I am trying to figure out how to edit the XML to make it the same size as the rest of the text.

This is how the text appears:

[cid:image001.png at 01D41D15.60DFDEB0]

This is the XML in ../xsl/letters/FulLostRefundFeeLoanLetter.xsl

                                                <body>
                                                <xsl:attribute name="style">
                                                                <xsl:call-template name="bodyStyleCss" /> <!-- style.xsl -->
                                                </xsl:attribute>

                                                                <xsl:call-template name="head" /> <!-- header.xsl -->
                                                                <xsl:call-template name="senderReceiver" /> <!-- SenderReceiver.xsl -->

                                                                <br />
                                                                <xsl:call-template name="toWhomIsConcerned" /> <!-- mailReason.xsl -->
                                                                <h>@@following_loaned_item_which_has@@</h>

                                                                <table cellpadding="5" class="listing">
                                                                <xsl:attribute name="style">
                                                                                <xsl:call-template name="mainTableStyleCss" /> <!-- style.xsl -->
                                                                </xsl:attribute>

I’ve highlighted the line that prints so small. Can someone tell me how to make this print the same size text as the rest of the document? Is <h> like a <h2> HTML tags? I’ve looked and looked for a list of valid XML tags but haven’t found one.

Thanks for any help with this.
