[Wactclc-alma] Reloan Limits

What bib record is it? I'd like to take a look at it.

One thing the docs on re-loan limits states is:

"For serial items, the limit only applies to items with the same description. "

If the record happens to be marked as a serial title, that might explain things.

Another potential hiccup with re-loan limits is if the info about the previous loan is wiped out be anonymization before the re-loan limit can do it's thing.

In other words, if re-loan limits restrict a new transaction or 3 days, but you're anonymizing completed loans every day, then the info about the previous transaction is gone before the reloan limit is reached.

We are also suddenly having trouble with our reloan limits.  I have items on the same bib record, with the same item policy, allowing reloans.

I would like to hear of anyone else's theories.

Hi all,

We just had an unexpected result with our Reloan Limit. Is there any way the limit might be calculating from the due date instead of the return date?

We had a student return her laptop a day late, and we were able to check her out a new laptop (same name) within the defined limit. We were hypothesizing that it was because it had been over a day since the DUE date rather than the RETURN date.

Does that make sense?

Also, remember that reloan limits don't apply to items of different bibliographic records.

So, for example, it's not going to block the reloan of a laptop, if the laptop on the 2nd transaction is not on the same title record as the first laptop.

I would suggest checking your test transaction, and make sure that the TOU you think is being applied is the one that is actually being applied.

Hi Wade,

By "not working", I mean that the 4-hour no reloan is not being applied to the 1 week loans. They are working for other loans. All of our reserve items have a TOU policy that they are due at noon, regardless of the date they are due (i.e. 2-hour, overnight, 3-day, 1-week, etc.). I have checked and double-checked the TOUs. I will check once again. I may have missed something. As they say, third time is a charm.

I have set up a reloan limit of 4 hours for our overnight, 3-day and 1 week loans. All of them are working, except for the 1 week loan. I have checked all of the settings, and they are all the same.

Any ideas as to what may be going on?
