[Wactclc-alma] Quarter loan is coming up with today's date - HELP!

Shellie,

Well, now I'm having issues with my calendar dates!

I've updated my calendar and as far as I can see, everything looks correct. I have an event in the main calendar for our end of quarter due date of 8/22/2018. Yet when I check out a quarter reserve book, the due date comes up 7/2. I've looked at policies associated with the quarter reserve and it says quarter loan and student quarterly loan.

I've looked at the calendar config and the calendar has my end of quarter date. I've applied the changes and saved. I've also closed out of Alma and relogged in. But it doesn't seem to work.

I'm using my test patron record right now and here's a barcode for the book that I'm trying to get to check out until 8/22.

Thanks for helping.

Stephanie

I think Skagit and Pierce use different configuration protocols for their end-of-quarter calendar events.

Pierce creates a separate event for each end-of-quarter, and then updates the fixed value for their end-of-quarter Due Date policy.

Skagit, on the other hand, updates a single end-of-quarter event, and leaves the Due date policy alone.

So, though Lesley edited her calendar, it was not the kind of edit that would affect the end-of-quarter date being applied.

Excellent thought, though! And something we all benefit from reviewing once in a while.

Hi Leslie,

Not sure if this is the same issue, but we had something similar happen last year. It had to do with the calendar dates and how soon you update your calendar dates for the next quarter. We learned that in order to continue to have things work and accrue fines and stop renewing materials, etc. we had to not update the calendar until the first day of the next quarter started. I just did my updates for the calendar today.

Not sure if this will help, but it's something we found - the calendar getting updated with the next quarter's dates too soon can cause issues.

Hi Lesley,

I'll take a look at your config and see what (if anything) can be done.

Hi all,

I'm ten minutes back for summer quarter and already emailing you!

We had something weird happen over the break. A student had a book that was due the last day of the quarter (6/15), her account also expired that day. However, she must be taking summer classes because her account reactivated with the summer load. On 6/18 she received her three day overdue notice, and then on 6/20 she renewed her overdue book using Primo.

Is there anything I can set up in Advanced Policies or somewhere to stop that from happening again?

Thanks!
