So I wouldn't forget what Wade showed us again, I did up some instructions on filtering an Alma Analytics report by specific barcodes. Thought they might be helpful for other folks too. The trick of using Find & Replace with hidden formatting characters in Word is really handy for formatting data when you (like me) don't know how to code.

*************************

You can add multiple criteria to a filter in Alma Analytics by separating each entry with a semicolon. Don't put a space after the semicolon.

For example, to filter by specific barcodes:

Scan the barcodes into a Word document

(Note: Instructions assume your barcode scanners are configured to insert a hard return after the barcode number)

Turn on the option to show hidden formatting characters by clicking the paragraph symbol in the Paragraph section of the toolbar in the Home tab

[Machine generated alternative text: O VEINGS AaBI "Bbccod AagbC( AEBbCc:]

Select Replace

In the Find and Replace dialog box, position your cursor in the Find what: box, then click the More button

[Machine generated alternative text: Find and Replace Find Find what: Replace with: More Realace Go To Replace Replace All Find Next Cancel]

Click the Special button and select Paragraph mark from the list

[Machine generated alternative text: Find and Replace pin d Replace with; Matcb Fird Fimd all earagraph Mark lab Character Any Character Any Digit Any Letter Caret Character S Section Character T P'ragraph Character Dash Dash endnote Mark Eoomote Mark Graphic Marwal Line Break Ncmbreaking Hyphen Nonbreakjng Space Optional Hyphen Replace Match yefiz Cl Match suffix Next Igncre uhite-space characters]

Position your cursor in the Replace with: box and enter a semicolon

Click Replace all

Manually delete the final semicolon after the last barcode

Highlight and copy your list of barcodes

In Alma Analytics, select the report that you want to filter by specific barcodes

Click the Criteria tab

Find the Barcode field and select the option to Filter

[Machine generated alternative text: Physical Item Details Bibliographic Details Netruork Id Barcode Filters Add filters to the an. pane. Nervvork Number MMS Id Sort Edit formula Column Filter 'Iter option for the specific column in the a Save Column As]

In the New Filter window, paste your barcodes into the Value field

Leave Operator field set as: is equal to/is in

Click OK

[Machine generated alternative text: New Filter Column Operator Value Barcode is equal to/ is in Add PWe Options Clear All OK Cancel C) Protect Filter C) Convert this filter to SQL]

Save your report and view in the Results tab

[Machine generated alternative text: Results Criteria Z' Subject Areas Physical Items Prompts Advanced Compound Layout Title Barcode-MMSID-Network Number Network a Physical Item Details Holding Details Item Creation Date a Item Modification Date Bibliographic Details a Library Unit Location LC Classifications Dewey Classifications Temporary Location Line Fund Information Institution Table Barcode 30600005469714 30600005471017 30600005471025 30600005471066 30600005471090 Add to Briefing Book Network MMS Id Number 997262360202820 997262360902820 997262360502820 997262359702820 997262359602820]

It will be ok!
