[Wactclc-alma] paying fines and fees

In Alma, "Paid at cashier" is actually a "waive reason", rather than a payment type (since you are not actually taking the payment, someone else is).

In other words, if someone else is taking the payments (like a registrar or cashiers office), then at the circ desk you would waive the fine, and set the waive reason as 'paid at cashier'.

Waive reasons can be set up under "User Management / Waive reasons".

Is there a way to change the payment type from CASH to Paid at Cashier? I have been looking all over ALMA configuration for this, but I can't find that. I can only seem to change the Waiving reasons, but circulation staff want to be able to change the payment type to be more descriptive...

When you waive a fine / fee, you have to select a reason for the waive.

And you can add customized 'waiving reasons', depending on your use cases. So, you could add something like "paid at cashier's office".

I believe we did not set up Alma to accept payments because the money is actually accepted at our cashier's office.  So when someone pays for a lost book, do we now have any other option than "Waive?"  Waive is also what we do when someone brings the book back and doesn't need to pay and I'd prefer to have them recorded differently.  Perhaps I misunderstood the utility of the Pay option when we did set up.
