[Wactclc-alma] Deleting old urls in Electronic Portfolios

I think it's because you don't have a proxy selected, and these portfolios were created from a load of local marc records, which had proxied URLs in the 856?

Probably to get the display in Alma to change, you could refresh those MARC records, and re-load them as overlays.

For loading records like this, you could clean out the proxy prefix from the MARC records prior to loading the records, then proxy the records at the electronic collection level, if they belong to a collection, or at the portfolio record.

Hmm...that's weird.  What parameters did you use on the Update Info job?  Did  you leave the "change to" field empty or did you put something in there?  Leave it empty to delete the prefix.  (I'm pretty sure I've seen this work.)

Thanks, Shellie! I just tried that on a small set of ebooks. It added a new static url with the new proxy, but the old proxy is still showing. I guess it stays there forever?

Could you gather the portfolios into a set and then use the Update Information job to delete the url prefix?

Hi everyone,

Our EZ Proxy server changed in June (yippee!). This means we've had to update links on our website, libguides, databases, etc. One place where we're encountering trouble is Alma.

When we created some electronic portfolios, we included our old proxy in the url (whoops!). Now when we go into Edit Portfolio, there doesn't appear to be a way to delete/edit the old links. We can add a new Static URL, and indicate that Alma use it. However, we can't seem to delete the old url.
