[Wactclc-alma] Edmonds issues with Headings Enrichment in Primo

Thanks for sharing your results, Dale! We enabled Headings Enrichment two weeks ago, but after hearing from you that it was glitchy, we decided not to republish our catalog. So, although Headings Enrichment was enabled for the screenshots I attached, the vast majority of our records were created before Headings Enrichment would have applied to them (…if I understand correctly how that works).

That said, we are seeing a lot of the same results that you are. I hope my comments are easy enough to find. I added them to the original doc in bold blue font, with screenshots where appropriate.

Because we enabled HR but haven’t republished, maybe our results can help troubleshoot whether what you’re seeing is a Headings Enrichment “feature,” or not.

We are definitely not going to republish our catalog until we understand more about how enrichment works. In fact, now I plan to disable HR in order to examine the results without it.

Thanks for the heads up! (And wow, how did it get to be November? Happy one to all from here, too.)

Nina

Subject: [Wactclc-alma] Edmonds issues with Headings Enrichment in Primo

Hello,

I am cross posting this message to both the Alma list and the Primo list.

Edmonds decided to try the Headings Enrichment feature; however, we are quite unhappy with the outcome.

I was able to get ExLibris to re-publish my entire database, but the results are definitely not what I expected.

There are sample examples of the kinds of issues we are dealing with on the attached document. I am not trying to figure out where to go from here. I don't know if some of the issues can be fixed by editing normalization rules or not. I also don't know if I will be able to get ExLibris to re-publish my entire database if I decide to turn off Headings Enrichment.

If you have not done the Headings Enrichment yet I would recommend that you review my document, which should help you decide if you really want to.

Happy November!
