[Wactclc-alma] [External] RE: community patron due dates

The easiest thing is to simply change the applicable TOUs being used for community patrons, and set the due date to your end of quarter due date policies.

Just because community users aren't students doesn't mean that their due date can't be set to end of quarter, the same way as for students.

Ugh. Gonna have to get creative!

Could we create a "block" in bulk for all community patrons, that would force a pop up every time they check something out, that reminds our circ desk students to manually change due dates that are going past the end of the quarter?

Hi Amy,

I don't know of a way to set a "due in three weeks, but no later than the end of the term" type due date other than by setting the user account expiry to the last day of the term.

The following KB article seems to confirm that account expiry date is the only way, and it also describes how use the Bulk Change Due Date functionality to roll back the due date for existing loans (though I know this isn't what you're really looking for).

Our student accounts all expire on the last day of the quarter and therefore they cannot checkout materials past that date. However our community patrons are entered as internal patrons and their due date is set manually for 1 year from the day we create their accounts. Is this why they are able to check out materials past the last day of the quarter? Is there a way to set a fixed end of quarter due date for them without changing their expiration dates?

My recollection is that the "end of term" date we can set doesn't do what it did in Voyager, which is to make all materials due that day for EVERYONE, but rather is only linked to quarter-long loans.
