Hello SAN Members,

The deadline for public comment to the U.S. Department of Education NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rulemaking)<https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/05/19/2023-09647/financial-value-transparency-and-gainful-employment-ge-financial-responsibility-administrative> is June 20, 2023.

There are issues beyond Gainful Employment that are of importance to this community for which you may wish to alert you colleagues and provide a public comment.

SAN and WCET submitted the first of two public comments today.  The first addressing programs leading to a license.  We will release the second comment early next week addressing impact on reciprocity for state authorization.  We hope that you will review our comment to help inform a public comment from your institution or organization.

In a nutshell, the language of the proposed regulation indicates that for purposes of participation in title IV HEA programs, an institution must determine that the program satisfies educational prerequisites where the student is located.

  *   What experiences do you have addressing state licensing boards to determine if your program satisfies educational prerequisites?
