<p class="MsoNormal">For the Residence Questionnaire, the student must be in an eligible immigration status for residency, whether she extends her H1B, changes to an H4 (or other eligible) visa, or has a valid EAD on the first day of the quarter. If she changes
to an H4, you can bridge that time with her period on the H1B to meet the 1 year in an eligible status.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">If she meets 12 month requirement for the affidavit and is comfortable signing the immigration certification, she could use the affidavit regardless of what her visa status is. Of she changes to an F1 student visa, this is her only option.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">As to what is possible with regard to her immigration status, the student should speak with an immigration attorney.
