<p class="MsoNormal">Overdue laptops is time intensive work for our circ staff, especially since we stopped charging overdue tech fines.<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Library staff emails and calls student when laptop is overdue and includes the cost of replacing technology if not returned. (usually ~1 week overdue)<u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">If the student doesn’t return the laptop or respond to the email/call, library staff follows up with a certified letter. (~1 week after email/call)<u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">If the laptop is still not returned or no response to the certified letter, the head of circulation files a security incident report (not a police report).<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Our hotspots we will deactivate. We haven’t remotely shut down our computers, but our MACs are the only ones that have that remote capability, our windows based laptops don’t.<u></u><u></u></p>
