<p class="MsoNormal">Bellevue College has a dedicated BAS/Baccalaureate Librarian. We have 12 baccalaureate degrees, so it was more than necessary to have a dedicated librarian to liaise with and support these programs. I was previously at LWTech and was hired
in 2008 as part of funding to start the Applied Design bachelors there. If you can get a seat at the table when baccalaureate programs are getting started I highly recommend adding a BAS librarian, as these are upper level programs that require unique supports
and resources. Our BAS Librarian here at BC helped advocate for NWCCU recommendation to better support our BAS programs and we now have a separate budget allocated for that. It is important to remind the decision makers that personnel and research resources
need to be considered when putting together a BAS program, as the needs of these programs will far outweigh existing staff and resources.<o:p></o:p></p>
