<p class="MsoNormal">I am seeking some insight on pitfalls and things to be aware of regarding a pending restructuring being proposed at Bellevue College. Our Dean of Library & eLearning leadership position will be restructured to an Associate Dean of Library
position. Library and eLearning are very intertwined with each other, but there is a commitment to pulling these two areas apart so the Associate Dean position only oversees the library. The Associate Dean of the Library will report to the Dean for the division
that will include RISE, Academic Support Center, eLearning, XR Lab, and library. They are trying to come up with a title for the main dean of the division that encompasses all of those areas.

<p class="MsoNormal">Some of the concerns that have been brought up have been about the library leadership position being demoted, balancing workload with pay/title of position (this is why eLearning is being separated out), and reporting to a Dean who does
not have library credentials/background/experience. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Has anyone had this happen at their institution? What are some things I should be on the lookout for in terms of balancing the work with the position/title/pay? Are there any library leadership folks in an Associate Dean position? I have
provided info to our Provost about how CTCs across Washington State are structured, as well as comparison of FTEs, but the restructuring looks likely to move forward. I would be interested to hear any experiences and/or perspectives on this.<o:p></o:p></p>
