                Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, 
permanent classified Library Access Services Technician (Library and 
Archives Paraprofessional 2) at Clark Libraries. This position provides 
customer-centered services to library visitors and performs specialized 
technical duties primarily in support of course reserves.<br><br>Clark

                <strong>Job Duties and Responsibilities:<br> </strong><ul> <li>Provide information and assistance to a diverse population.   </li><li>Courteously and effectively respond to visitors who have questions about library policies or procedures.   </li><li>Perform comprehensive fulfillment activities that include a substantial laptop loan program.       </li><li>Manage all course reserve documentation including creating and maintaining course records using Alma library services platform.    </li><li>Train and direct tasks for student employees. Help develop training program for Access Services Aides.     </li><li>Collaborate
 in discussions and decision-making concerning library services. Support
 all Access Services responsibilities including resource sharing, video 
booking, room reservations and stack maintenance.       </li><li>Update work group manuals and training materials using wiki software and Google docs. Compile statistics and reports as needed.    </li><li>Contribute to outreach efforts and promote library services and resources using social, campus and print media.    </li><li>Establish and maintain partnerships with faculty, staff and public.      </li><li>Monitor
 facility for compliance with security and safety regulations according 
to established procedures; participate in Clark College emergency drills
 and training.  </li><li>Perform related duties as required.</li></ul>

                <strong>Position Requirements and Competencies:</strong><br>Candidates
 will be evaluated based on application materials, including the 
supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required 
to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:<br> <ul>   <li><strong>Education:</strong> High school graduation or equivalent. </li><li><strong>Experience:</strong> Three years' experience in the functional operations of a library including one year beyond entry level, <strong>OR</strong> an Associate Degree in Library Technology from an accredited program <strong>AND</strong> one year of technical experience in the functional operations of a library.</li></ul><ul>        <li>Strong organizational skills and attention to details.</li></ul><ul>        <li>Excellent
 customer service skills working with people of all ages from 
academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.    </li><li>Relevant experience working in an integrated library system, specialized database systems, or comparable software/systems. </li><li>Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.  </li><li>Ability to work independently and competently manage multiple projects.    </li><li>Ability to compile statistics, develop reports and analyze results.        </li><li>Skilled
 in using interview techniques and Boolean searching to identify 
resources and/or answer a variety of general questions preferred.       </li><li>Familiarity with community college policies and procedures.        </li><li>Knowledge of the Library of Congress Classification System and library rules for filing and shelving.      </li><li>Work effectively in a team environment.</li></ul>

 initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the 
employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing 
probation.         </li><li><strong>Prior to a new hire, a background
