<p class="MsoNormal"><a name="_MailEndCompose">At Yakima our finds and fees account is designated for library software, but I also use it to supplement our collections budget. I don’t think there are really any restrictions on what I can use the money for.
However, in a given fiscal year, I can only spend the revenue earned in that fiscal year. Any unspent money rolls over but cannot be used without written permission from the president and both vice presidents.<o:p></o:p></a></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">At Whatcom CC we currently use our fines and fees to pay for items above and beyond our normal lines item, eg., we tap fines/fees to cover national conferences (national ALA and ACRL) and some local travel once we’ve depleted those line
items, other prof dev, to fund expensive furniture/white boards, and occasionally collection items.
