stations is a card reader that we swipe the cards through. We did have to have our Tech Services people do a bit of tinkering with the card reader to prevent extra characters from appearing at the beginning and end of the ID numbers. You would also want
to make sure a carriage return code is included so you don’t have to hit enter after swiping the card.<o:p></o:p></span></a></p>

<p><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">Our registration office is considering switching to a student ID machine that encodes the student ID into a mag strip. Is anyone using a mag strip card with ALMA? Our practice over the last 15
years has been to attach a pre-printed barcode to the student ID. We'd like to get away from that.
