<p>Hi Vivienne,</p>
<p>At the Seattle Colleges, our situation is that each of the three colleges have and are continuing to develop BAS programs independently of each other in accordance with targeted needs. The "problem" is two-fold: 1) often during the BAS development process
library resources and information literacy staffing are not included in the <span>
budget planning; 2) subject specific resources necessary for a particular BAS program are often expensive, making it a challenge to subscribe as a district since the campuses without the program cannot really afford to put funds towards an extraneous resource.
Solution to the first part is for BAS program development stakeholders to make sure the Library Dean is at the table. Part two might potentially be ameliorated by the Consortium taking on the cost of more general shared resources, thus freeing up funds for
subject specific resources at the campus level.</span></p>
