<p class="MsoNormal">As a supporter of the State Library, I wanted to let you know that Rand Simmons has decided to step aside as the State Librarian to take a new position within the State Library.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I very much appreciate all Rand has done to lead the State Library through some very difficult circumstances the past few years. I am also very pleased Rand will remain with us in the Library and believe his skills and experience are a
great fit for his new role and responsibility.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We will begin immediately with the search for a new State Librarian and are confident the opportunity to lead the transformation of the Washington State Library into the future will attract outstanding candidates. In the meantime, the
