They haven’t come out of committee, so may, in fact, die tonight. (But in the past, bills thought to be “dead in committee” have resurfaced as attachments to other bills later in the session!) If they do come out of committee, they don’t directly impact our libraries, but they could impact your college board meetings. SBCTC and your campus president are probably watching these as well, but I thought I would alert you to their existence and to let you know they are being watched by the WLA committee and liaison, Steve Duncan. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'>Rand’s stated in his report during the last phone call Kim Wyman made WSL’s budget her number one legislative priority. She is also dedicated to bringing back the idea of building a Heritage Center to house both the State Library and State Archives under one roof!<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'>As for the Library Council of Washington, our next meeting is March 11. Yours truly has been elected chair for 2013. Please be patient.
