Position Information

The Title III SIP Director is a full-time, exempt position at Seattle Central College (SCC). This position provides campus-wide leadership and direction for all aspects of the Title III SIP project to ensure project objectives and deliverables are met. The project supports the college’s larger Guided Pathways efforts by developing and supporting students’ first year experiences and providing professional development for employees with a focus on supporting the college’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.


Working with the Title III Steering Committee, otherwise operating as the Seattle Pathways Guiding Team and project staff, the Director plans and implements all grant-supported activities, including but not limited to, managing the project budget, ensuring adherence to applicable district, college, state, and federal requirements, and preparing and submitting required fiscal and annual reports to the college and U.S. Department of Education. The Title III Director will also regularly communicate grant objectives and progress to the President’s Cabinet and campus community, oversee systems and procedures to manage the Title Ill grant, and work with an external evaluator and SCC's Office of Institutional Effectiveness to carry out a formative and summative evaluation of grant-funded work. This is a highly collaborative position that involves working with stakeholders across the college and will have a deep relationship and regular communication with the Seattle Pathways Guiding Team, as well as serve on the Guiding Team.


This position supervises one classified employee. This position is exempt non represented and is funded through a Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education through September 2024, with the possibility of an extension of funding.

Salary range for this position is: $67,725/yr. - $93,525/yr. (depending on experience)

What you will be working on:

Leadership for implementation of college-wide Title III SIP effort:

  *   Working with the Seattle Pathways Leadership Team, coordinate and implement Title III activities between and among the Instruction and Student Services divisions in support of the larger Seattle Guided Pathways transformation.
  *   In partnership with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, oversee and coordinate the development and support of the quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, and tailored Tableau dashboards for cross-campus access.
  *   Develop and provide ongoing training for faculty and staff on the Guided Pathways framework.
  *   Manage campus communication and work with Communications & Marketing on external messaging about Title III SIP.
  *   Coordinate with Employee Development to implement collegewide professional development that supports and aligns with Pathways efforts.

Campus-wide Coordination and Communication:

  *   Collaborate on developing Guided Pathways Guiding Team and Lead Team agendas and reporting content.
  *   Effectively bring together appropriate and ample faculty and staff to develop and assess key grant deliverables.
  *   Coordinate with Title III Directors and colleagues across the district to ensure alignment.

Grant Management, Evaluation, and Reporting:

  *   Ensure Central’s compliance with all federal grant requirements.
  *   Manage Title III budget and authorization for all expenditures and guide efforts of the Title III Program Specialist to accomplish these project objectives.
  *   Maintain all grant documentation and records, describe including fiscal records, equipment inventory, time and effort forms for payroll documentation, and monthly progress reports.
  *   Oversee the work of an external Title III project evaluator who will assist with annual formative and summative reports and provide analysis and input from a third-party perspective.
  *   Oversee data collection in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
  *   Ensure that all data elements are collected, analyzed, and results disseminated in a timely manner to appropriate stakeholders who will review relevant data and, if needed, develop improvement plans.
  *   Prepare and submit all required grant reports.
  *   Participate in the hiring and supervision of all grant-funded personnel.
  *   Perform other related duties, as assigned.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

  *   Master’s Degree and at least 5 years’ experience in higher education, preferably in 2-year colleges
  *   Broad knowledge of and experience with college systems across Instruction, Student Services, and Administration
  *   Knowledge of the Guided Pathways framework and implementation
  *   Demonstrated knowledge and experience with federal compliance and reporting requirements
  *   Excellent written, verbal communication skills; confident, engaging speaker with experience training faculty and/or staff
  *   Experience in change management and leadership
  *   Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, anti-bias, and equity in an environment that serves historically underrepresented groups and or community college student populations

Physical Requirements:

The Position

  *   Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to Perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
  *   Encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  *   Is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
