<p class="MsoNormal">BTC currently has a Search Advocate program, most of our hiring committees require a search advocate(sa) that works toward creating an equitable hiring process on our campus. There are a few union jobs that don¡¯t require it but that we
still try to put a SA on. We utilize the <a href="https://searchadvocate.oregonstate.edu/">
Oregon State University training</a> and send folks through each year. Its one of the better trainings I have been to in the past few years. However, the fall back to this that BTC is working on is that our SA are trained but our chairs are not, so we are requesting
that chair training starts happening. SA have also found they have info that sometimes chairs or committees don¡¯t take seriously and there is a larger process beyond training that makes SA more useful and less useful aka policy, procedure, and praxis that
allows for the SA to be a useful and well-functioning member of a search committee. <o:p></o:p></p>
