<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">I think it always good to evaluate the intentions so please let me know how I can support. At CPTC, our Multicultural Office for Student Access and Inclusion Community (MOSAIC) Center (which used to report
to student success and now reports to EDI) will be hosting a multicultural celebration this year. We are not going to call it that but that’s essentially what it is. It isn’t a graduation ceremony (nor do I have any interest in duplicating a commencement ceremony)
BUT it is an optional opportunity to celebrate our graduates in culturally affirming ways that center them and also to support the logics/distribution of a cultural identity stole that they can wear on actual commencement day.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">This will be the first time we are doing this and I’m not going to concern myself with the pushback but I imagine it will come. If and when I get it, I will have plenty of data to site as evidence for the
need from our campus climate survey. The goal is to never need these and to actually shift the culture of actual commencement.
