To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Kenia Diaz and I work at Sea Mar Community Health Centers. Our Sea Mar Scholarships for the 2024 – 2025 academic year are now open! Enclosed please find a flyer promoting our scholarships in English and in Spanish. The flyers attached have a QR code that will direct scholars to our Scholarship website where they can learn more about our scholarships and apply. You can also access our website, https://www.seamar.org/scholarships.html, by clicking here<https://www.seamar.org/scholarships.html>.

Please help us recruit eligible students by posting the flyers around your school or institution and announcing this great scholarship opportunity. We would highly appreciate it if you could pass this email/message along to other community leaders who can disseminate this information to eligible students. Here is a brief overview of our Sea Mar Scholarships:

Sea Mar Farmworker High School & College Scholarships<https://www.seamar.org/scholarship-farmworker.html>

Sea Mar recognizes and acknowledges the barriers children of farm working families face in their pursuit of a college degree. Economic strains, as well as the language and cultural barriers can often affect these students.

Sometimes students need to work after-school and all summer to assist their family. Sea Mar is proud to provide annual scholarships to help make college a reality.

Award amount: $1,000.

You can access this scholarship by clicking here<https://www.seamar.org/scholarship-farmworker.html>.

Latino/a Educational Achievement Project Scholarship<https://www.seamar.org/scholarship-leap1.html>

The Sea Mar Latino/a Educational Achievement Project Scholarship provides financial support for students who demonstrate a history of advocacy, responsibility, accountability, perseverance, are go-getters, and have shown or have the strong potential to be contributors to their community.

Award amount: $2,500

You can access this scholarship by clicking here<https://www.seamar.org/scholarship-leap1.html>.

Both scholarships are now open and will be closing on April 15, 2024. For any questions, please contact me at keniadiaz at seamarchc.org<mailto:keniadiaz at seamarchc.org> or scholarship at seamarchc.org<mailto:scholarship at seamarchc.org>. You can call my direct line at (206) 788-3229, or you can call the administrative office and ask for Kenia Diaz at (206) 763-5277.

For those of you that work directly in High Schools, below is a template announcement that can be used over your PA system.

Announcement:

The Sea Mar Community Health Centers Scholarships are now open! Sea Mar will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to students who are of migrant or seasonal farm worker backgrounds. The money can be used to cover expenses while you’re enrolled in college such as tuition, food, housing, books, etc! Take advantage of this opportunity. You can find the application at www.seamar.org<https://www.seamar.org/> or you can connect with your counselor for more information. The deadline is April 15, 2024.
