Director of Equity Leadership and Development
Priority Consideration Date: November 1, 2023

Tacoma Community College (TCC) serves the educational, workforce, and cultural needs of our diverse students and communities through the core themes of advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion; cultivating exceptional learning; strengthening community partnerships; and enhancing institutional vitality.  We are seeking a Director of Equity Leadership and Development to provide equity-based training and professional development opportunities- as it relate to TCC's equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) goals. As the winner of the regional Charles Kennedy Award for Equity, EDI is a priority initiative for TCC. The Director of Equity Leadership and Development is critical in helping to create organizational accountability and effectiveness, compliance, momentum, and advancement towards TCC's equitable and anti-racist goals.

Position Overview
This position will create, deliver, and coordinate EDI-based training and professional development opportunities for faculty, staff, and students at TCC. It will also act as the direct supervisor for both Professional Development Coordinators within the Professional Development Department. A primary objective of the position is to be able to provide workshops and trainings to the college both during and in addition to the predetermined professional development days as well as respond directly to skill set needs within various departments and divisions. This role will also work closely with student leaders in focusing on their own leadership development with an EDI focus. The position collaborates directly with the Professional Development Coordinators and Associate Director of EDI within the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
