[DEOC] Israel- Palestine Campus Conversations

Hi Doris, I sent a campus-wide message from the Office of Equity & Inclusion and the Executive Team in early October when the conflict first began to address the concerns this would have on our campus community and reinstating our commitment to non-violence. We also offered a space for folks to meet and chat if they needed to and counseling resources.


Our position is non-violence and supporting all impacted. I had to send a second message a couple of weeks later, because there were many side conversations happening and I told it was becoming an issue. The second message basically restated the first and again, offered resources. Like many campuses, we have folks on either side and we are starting to see more concern from faculty about issues in the classroom. We have been very careful not to take a side, which has not been easy. Hope this helps. I look forward to learning what other folks are doing.
