[DEOC] WACTC Meeting

What substantive changes have you all made or will make since you've received the email from Dr. Grier on her experiences and how can we be reassured that another of our DEO members wouldn't have a similar experience?

What is WACTC's commitment to ensuring that Sophia at SBCTC has equal access to WACTC as we do as a Commission?

DEO's get notices about their participation in WACTC meetings at the last min. We still have not gotten a formal invite to the October meeting and many are not sure if they should or can come. Some of us have great relationships with our Presidents and Chancellors and some don't. (It feels last minute and an add-on/performative).



The DEO's ask that you consider the following:

  *   Engage in open and direct dialogue with DEO's about our collective stance on the importance of DEI in our SBCTC. Especially since it is under attack Nationally
  *   Establish Quarterly face to face meetings with DEO's
  *   Partner with us to prepare your colleges for deep and honest conversations around the impacts of this work and why we support it collectively
  *   Have preemptive conversations about the upcoming election cycle and the rise of hate that is sure to come. Discuss a proactive messaging stance.
