<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">I agree with Ashley that having more information on the query helps catch all the students we are required to review for post-withdrawal disbursements. I understand that reducing
the workload is always desirable, but when it comes to R2T4, thorough is the best route to keep the feds happy.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">I would caution against adding criteria to the query that would assist in throttling down the information that is retrieved. I use Excel filtering to a great degree when processing
R2T4; it’s easier to filter out information that you don’t want/need than to find another way to capture it because you found you needed it after all.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">When it comes to R2T4, more is definitely better; ED will consider it a poor excuse if we say our queries simply didn’t pull that information, and a worse one if we say we deliberately
excluded from our query some students who should have been reviewed - even those who have been awarded need to be reviewed to see if they are considered to be a TIV recipient, and then to see if they are entitled to a PWD.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">I work withdrawals once a week throughout the quarter (the
entire quarter to catch all the backdated ones from withdrawal exception requests). I work PWDs once a week as well, on the day after I’ve processed the latest batch of R2T4 calculations. This keeps the PWD list fairly clean of official withdrawals.
I save the lists with the date added to the filename, and compare the previous one to the new one every week to cull out the students I’ve already reviewed, which further whittles down the number of students to be reviewed. It usually doesn’t take me long
to work through the list.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#2E74B5">Of course, this is just my opinion and preferred method, but it’s born from 23 years of processing R2T4 and advice from a program reviewer in a federal program review. I hope it

Hi Kelsey,

At SFCC we actually have been a proponent of the change because it was missing students who may have needed an evaluation of a post withdraw disbursement. SFCC made their own query a few years back when Debbie was here to include students
who had aid awarded but then cancelled, as well as those who never had aid offered.

One way we help to cut down reviewing students is processing official withdraws first and then closing their worksheets in the system, that will then be on the PWD query with a completed worksheet date. Therefore, you know those at least
have already been processed through official withdraw processing. I am not sure if there would be other fields that could be added help you filter, maybe others have ideas. One idea is adding Aid Processing Status and Review Status from the Packaging Status
Summary page. That way you could filter those Package Complete/Complete? If it is a request of the larger group we could discuss that in FAST for any additional fields to help filter.

We found the below was missing from the old PWD query and should have been reviewed for a PWD:

Those accidently cancelled by other staff before the R2T4 specialist could review for a PWD.

Those who were cancelled because they said they were coming Fall and awarded all year, but then never enroll Fall so we cancel aid. Then they come winter and never update us. Those were missing from PWD
evaluation if their aid was cancelled in prior quarters, but really may be entitled to a PWD.

Our hope we can keep the new results so that we are ensuring to review all students who actually may be eligible for a PWD. Just our two cents!

I am working with our SME who runs the R2T4 process, and they would like to be able to limit the results/outputs of this query to only those accounts who have not been awarded at all. I understand
that the updated query was made precisely to include accounts with awarded aid. However, the change is slowing down the SMEs review process and I'm wondering what this community would recommend in response. Is there a field they can filter to after
running or an alternative query that they can use? Or perhaps there is an optional prompt that could be added to allow them to run it limited to that group? Maybe we are missing something about how results are intended to be used or reviewed?
