<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">On the STUDENT_AID table, the dependency status for some students incorrectly reflected as X or Y when it should be D or I. As mentioned in the

PRP 3.1 OVD</a>, the bug was resolved by Oracle going forward; however, it did not retroactively update the erroneous values. Over 4000 records across ctcLink were affected by this bad data.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">FA Support implemented a fix last Friday evening, in Production, to replace the X or Y value with the correct D or I dependency value. The fix is to remove the need to award affected students unsubsidized loans
using Invoke Professional Judgement. The solution will also eliminate the requirement to update the Dependency Status for loans prior to transmitting them to COD.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<b>*NOTE* </b>- Please be aware that FA Support did not adjust any loans that were previously originated with the incorrect dependency status. There may be a few students that will need their dependency status overridden on the Override Loan Application Data

<p><span style="font-size:11.0pt">At this time, we highly recommend that ISIRs should
<b>not be deleted </b>once an award has been made, because of this bug & others mentioned in the OVD guide & on the FAFSA Simplification 2024-2025 Known Issues in ctcLink webpage.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11.0pt">In the meantime, we have developed a query to identify these students. Once this query is available in Production, we will send a notification. You can then run the query to look for students who have the incorrect dependency
status value of X or Y. Once you have confirmed that a student has not reached their loan aggregates & has met all other eligibility to receive the loans, you should be able to award the loan on the Invoke Professional Judgment page.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:11.0pt">To determine if a loan will need the dependency status value updated, navigate to Financial Aid > Loans > Direct Lending Management > Override Loan Application Data. Select the Direct Loan Demo Ovrd tab. If the dependency status
value is X or Y, override it to D (dependent students) or I (independent students).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
